The Decree entered into force, Albanian language in Macedonian Police uniforms

The Decree on police uniforms has entered into force in North Macedonia, which the Government approved a year ago based on the Law on the use of languages.

This means that the police uniforms will also be in the Albanian language, and that in the capital (SKOPJE) and in municipalities where at least 20 percent of the population are of Albanian origin.

The introduction of Albanian into use in uniforms was one of the most discussed issues during the debates on changes in the law, which were rounded up in the year 2019.

During the debate in the Assembly, there were also tense clashes between political parties.

Meanwhile, photos of the new police uniforms have been distributed, which except in the Macedonian language, they will be in Albanian and English.
