Gunmen attack a mosque in Nigeria, 18 dead
At least 18 Believers lost their lives and several were injured Monday when gunmen attacked a mosque in northern Nigeria during morning prayers, reports Anadolu Agency (AA).
The incident took place in the village of Mazakuka in the Mashegu local government area of Niger state.
The gunmen attacked the village and went to the mosque attacking the believers during prayers.
Adnan Tukur, a resident of the area, said attackers fired into the air to scare off potential intruders before killing their victims up close inside the mosque, while the others fled with wounds.
The gunmen came to the village with a convoy of motorcycles to carry out the attack. "We were attacked by surprise, "We are still confused and shocked by the attack.", tha Tukur.
