The Socialist Party has won the overwhelming majority of municipalities in Albania within the local elections held on Sunday. From the count so far, 50 is the number of "pink" municipalities, while the opposition is leading in only seven municipalities.
In some municipalities, counting is still going on, and it is mainly dominated by the socialists of Prime Minister Edi Rama. Counting continues in Tirana, Kukës and Malësi te Madhe.
The largest cities in Albania have been won by the SP. "Bashke Fitomje" by Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta has won in seven municipalities: Puka, Kavaja, Has, Himare, Memaliaj, Mirdite and Fushë-Arres.
