The story of the blind boy
A blind boy was sitting on the steps of a building with a hat in his hand, while near him he held a letter where he wrote: "I am blind, I ask you for your help. ” There were only a few coins in the hat…
A man passed by there first and noticed the boy. He pulled some coins out of his pocket and left them in the boy's hat. He then received the letter, turned it to the opposite side, wrote something and left it so that passers-by could see the words he wrote.
Soon the hat began to fill. Many more people were throwing money at the blind boy's hat. That afternoon, the man who changed the boy's words, came to see how things go. The boy recognized his steps and asked him:
"Are you the one who changed the words in my letter this morning?? Tell me what you wrote?”
“I just wrote the truth ", said the man. "I wrote what you wrote, but in a different way. – Today is a beautiful day, but I can not see it. "
Do you think that the first and the second scriptures speak of the same thing??
certainly, both writings showed people that the boy is blind. For, the first writing only showed that the boy is blind, while the second scripture told people that they should be happy that they are not blind. perhaps, should we be surprised why the second scripture had more effect?
Our Lord bestowed upon us sight and hearing, but we thank him very little.
