Kosovar doctors: The number of coronavirus infections may increase in the fall
The slow immunization of the population by health professionals is being seen as a potential risk for Kosovo to be swept by a new wave of the virus in the coming months..
Among infectologists and pulmonologists, mass immunization is recommended as the only weapon to defeat the pandemic.
Although the epidemiological situation with coronavirus has improved in our country, the concern remains the blow from a new wave of infections in the following months.
Infectious disease specialist Sali Ahmeti predicts that in autumn there may be an increase in the number of people infected with Covid-19.
"I personally think we have not finished it at all, the issue of the pandemic is not a local issue but a global one. We can not finish anything without being completed even in the region. The situation in Britain and other countries is noticing that cases have started to increase, there is a possibility that from September we will have an increase in cases, but not explosive waves as it was in July and August 2020 ", he declared.
For pulmonologist Besim Borina, risk for a new wave of infections in our country is the small number of citizens vaccinated against coronavirus.
"Unless we have a significant number of vaccinated we are always at risk of a new wave.", he told RTV21.
The Ministry of Health did not talk about increasing the number of vaccinated. Days ago in our country were confirmed the first cases with the Delta variant which has already spread to over 90 countries and is assessed as a threat to public health.
